The final leg of your trip will be a 20-minute drive down a windy and unpaved, but well-maintained, gravel road. It will be a breath-taking transition to another world.

Drive from Vancouver
From Vancouver, drive BC-1E and BC-97N
to Prince George, then follow BC-16W. Drive from Calgary
From Calgary, drive AB-1W and AB-93N
through Banff and Jasper, then follow BC-16W. |
Fly & Drive from Vancouver
Fly from Vancouver to Terrace or Smithers.
From Terrace, rent a car at the airport, then follow BC-16E (aka BC-37N) to reach Skeena Cabin. From Smithers, rent a car at the airport, then follow BC-16W to reach Skeena Cabin. Fly & Drive from Calgary

Ferry & Drive from Port Hardy, BC
From Port Hardy, Northern Vancouver Island, sail to Prince Rupert via
BC Ferries' Inside Passage route. Once you dock in Prince Rupert, rent a car and follow BC-16E to Skeena Cabin. Note: This cruise can also be taken after your stay at Skeena Cabin, sailing from Prince Rupert to Port Hardy. |
Ride the Rails & Drive
Board the VIA Rail passenger train in Jasper, and disembark in Smithers or Terrace.
(Note that the train stops overnight en route in Prince George.) You'll find a car rental within 2 blocks of the train station in both Smithers and Terrace. From Smithers drive BC-16W to reach Skeena Cabin; from Terrace follow BC-16E (aka BC-37N). |
